I had a pretty nasty cold set in today. I’m really nervous about making it through my six month probation, so I really didn’t want to take any sick time.
A patient asked to take a picture with the front office team because he was moving from treatment to recovery from his cancer. I posed and smiled, then went back to my desk, thought about how fragile some of the lives I see at work every day are, and went home.

Today I watched the Presidential debates and saw Mecca Normal open for The Julie Ruin.
They could not have been more different experiences.
I actually hadn’t heard of Mecca Normal before tonight, but their music made an incredible impact on me. I’ve been behind on my publishing schedule (this comic is even going up late), but this show and this band helped energize me so that I could get caught up.
