I’m still not quite used to the idea that I am a paid actor.
Though I guess they haven’t paid me yet, so technically I won’t be “paid” until the show is over in November.

My day included going to the Rose City Comic Con (my first convention in a long, long time), seeing a movie I really loved (Frank), and other good times. Capping that off with a night time bike ride just made everything perfect.
Actually, I ended up running late to work the next day so … a little regret.
Sometimes I forget that my body reacts differently to things at 210 pounds than it did at 310 pounds.
When describing my day to a friend, she said “you know how to party.”
It’s a recently acquired skill, but apparently I do.
I basically spend my money on food, clothes, and camping gear nowadays.
I never regret any of the things I buy in those three categories.
Okay, sometimes I regret the food. A little.
The weight I’ve lost hasn’t just been around my waist: My shoulders carry far less of a burden than they used to.
I travel light nowadays. It suits me well.
Then, everything was an obligation and a chore. Now, it’s a choice and a privilege.
Tonight I saw Poncho Sanchez at Jimmy Mak’s here in Portland having very little idea what I was walking into.
I smiled, I danced (badly), I wondered why I didn’t do this more often.
Today, I met with artists in a studio, got rather drunk, and helped create two collaborative paintings. I celebrated having been cast inĀ three different upcoming shows here in Portland (in minor, chorus roles – but I’ll be on stage again!), talked about comics, shared my work, and made new friends.
A good day.
A comic more about the people around me than myself. IĀ debated whether to try and draw her face from my memory, but that seemed inappropriate somehow. I hope that by leaving her behind her umbrella, I haven’t failed to humanize her.
A very, very quick comic after a very, very late night where I had the chance to sing, dance, and act.
