Monica is the kind of performer that can make material seem better than it is. She’s a sweet, funny, joyous human and I’m grateful for the time I’ve had with her.
For whatever reason, she only seemed to turn up during the comics’ dance numbers, but she’s consistently been someone who has made my life a little brighter.
Like I said, I can’t wait to see what she does in NYC.
Galacticon 4 was bad. Real bad. Did we make the most of it? Of course! But it was bad.
Prologue:
August 2nd, 2015:
That time Kara got to interview Jewel Staite and I got to be really smug.
She told me that I would learn to. That she wished I didn’t have to. But this is the world we live in.
That time we met Aaron Douglas and he was amazing.
Turns out his next role seems to be “alternate reality Jesse.”
The trolling in question was of people who were harassing a friend of ours. They threatened physical violence and said some ridiculously sexist things once we engaged them, but by the time we were done they had shut up and Facebook deleted the whole thing thanks to their anti-harassment policies.
Win-win.
Sometimes when I’m not sure why something is painful, I just ignore it until I can come up with the reason.
I’m not saying this is entirely healthy. I’m just saying it happens.
Making (physical) comics.
Too much.
I can’t imagine Kara having a hard time accepting love, considering how I feel about her. And yet …
(Of course, she’s told me exactly the same thing. But that’s different because it’s me.)
