A moment from therapy.

This is why James Kochalka drew himself and his friends as funny animals. I can never manage to get likenesses down on a first try with the size I do these at and the speed at which I create them.
Oh, and this is also probably why I shouldn’t have talked about my comic at the company holiday party while sitting at the table with our CEO and a bunch of other bigwigs.

As a person who has written a good amount of fiction (even if very, very few of you have ever read any of it), you’re always thinking about how the story is going to continue from where you are. How the characters are going to change and grow. What comes next.
Writing purposefully about my life, as it happens, doesn’t make me immune from thinking about this project in similar terms.
How am I going to live in different patterns if I can’t keep myself from writing about my life in different patterns?
Once again, I find myself discussing my habits without saying that I think they’re correct or good. Seeing them is the first step towards any sort of change, though.

Apologies to all the people I barely sketched or doodled here without reference. I briefly considered using reference and drawing this scene exactly as it happened but … well, that would be hard.
And right now I’m thankful that this project is about drawing the hard subject matter and not the hard drawings.
I love each and every one of you.

There are two sides to this debate:
People who agree that no victim of sexual assault is to be blamed for what happened to them
and
assholes.

In helping others, I have found healing. Be kind to each other. None of us knows what the people in our lives have been through.
